Article about the Owners
The Texas Society of Professional Surveyors and other organizations have designated the week of March 16 – 22 as National Surveyor’s Week. In conjunction with this week honoring the surveying profession, Precise Land Surveying, Inc. has just celebrated its 15th birthday. Precise Land Surveying, Inc. was established in 1993 under the ownership of Gary and Natalie Vike. Precise has since grown into one of the largest survey companies in the
State of Texas and plays a crucial role in the history of surveying in the
State. Located here in Mesquite, Precise is staffed with approximately 80 employees and is dedicated to producing fast and accurate surveys needed for the transfer of land title in real estate transactions throughout Texas.
Precise uses the metes and bounds system for identifying land parcels, particularly for titles and deeds of residential and commercial tracts of land within a geographical location. Geographical location boundaries are main- tained by maps (plats) that depict individual lots or properties. These bound- aries are also marked by physical monumentation on the land which Precise as the surveyor must locate in order to accurately complete a survey.
Company vehicles are equipped with very advanced equipment such as laptops, scanners, lasers, recon calculators and advanced wireless remote computer access. This capability assists Precise surveyors in measuring property lines and drawing state of the art surveys in many of the Dallas/Ft. Worth surrounding counties.
Today the process of land surveying is both art and science and is always
a necessary component of the effective transfer of land title and a proud tradition in Texas culture. |
